Meet the Staff

Sheri Towner-Gabrelcik, Director

sheri

Sheri has trained students for over 35 years. A dancer since the age of eight, she studied extensively in New York City and Chicago with numerous Master Teachers. Sheri also trained in jazz with Gus Giordano of Chicago, author of Anthology of American Jazz.

Her diversified dance training enables her to offer classes in creative movement, jazz, tap, ballet, stretch, middle-eastern dance, and musical theater. Sheri choreographed for local musical theater programs and served as a grant reviewer for the Delaware Arts Council. 

Bethany Russell

Bethany is from New Orleans, Louisiana, and comes to the Dance Factory by way of Dover Air Force Base. She began dancing at the age of three and has studied jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, and hip hop. Bethany taught at Touch of Class Dance Studio in Louisiana and studies with the Cathy Smith ad the Data Lombas schools of dance. She began studying at the Dance Factory in 2006 where she is also a member of Danceworks. She is a Physical Therapist Assistant at Bayhealth Medical Center and users her knowledge and training in that field to help dance students prevent and treat injuries.

Sherene Lindo

Sherene studied and performed Brazilian, African, and modern dance with the Urban 15 Group in Texas for 7 years. She came to Dover from Washington, DC, began studying at the Dance Factory in 2004, and has performed with Danceworks and taught creative dance, folk and praise dance, and water therapy/exercise. While in Texas she taught secondary educaiton and is now an RN with the State of Delaware. She uses her training to teach strengthening and conditioning classes.

Darien Sawicki

Darien began dancing at the Dance Factory at the age of 6. This season she will be teaching the Creative Levels A through C and a First Step I and a First Step II class. She was a counselor for the Dance Factory's Summer Musical Theater Camps in 2011. In the summer of 2010 she was accepted and received a partial scholarship to the DeSales Summer Dance Intensive. Darien is currently a senior at Caesar Rodney High School.

Marianne Magee

Marianne has been teaching Jazzercise® for 19 years. She has 10 years of dance training in tap, ballet, and jazz and has owned and operated a Jazzercise franchise in 4 different states over the past 19 years. Teaching Jazzercise gives her the opportunity to share her passion for dance and fitness. Marianne lives in Wyoming, Delaware with her husband Mitch and is the mother of 3 sons.


Guest Teacher

Laura Wright

Laura was a student of Ms Sheri's from 1976 to 1986 and taught tap from 1998 to 2001. She has her Masters in Elementary Education and Instruction from Wilmington University and the University of Delaware. Laura was a classroom teacher from 1995 to 2007 and is currently a librarian at Nellie Stokes Elementary School.
